Biological test methods for stents: cellular responses to microstructured biomaterials

چکیده
Abstract One of the greatest challenges in development novel implants is to find materials that optimally interact with tissue and support function implant over a long period time. Especially considering fact biomaterials are used multiple applications modern implants, better understanding physiology contact material becomes more important. To understand cellular responses biomaterials, it furthermore necessary models reflect physiological conditions at site. However, most cases, immortalized cell lines instead tissue-specific primary cells study biocompatibility materials. When interpreting these results, important consider differ significantly from found their native environment. In this study, we examined morphological differences between line upon various structures resembling prototypes. Using mouse fibroblast comparison porcine fibroblasts, discuss results respect use for testing biomaterials. Our suggest estimate meaningful regarding compatibility structures, key control experiments should always be performed specific cells.
